Thank You to Honda For Its Support of Our Distracted Driving Programs
It was almost 17 years ago that my daughter Casey was killed by a distracted driver. Since her death I have given more than 1000 presentations to teens in 45 states. I show them one of my favorite pictures of Casey, taken as she was about to graduate high school.
I tell them that they have everything Casey has in that picture-a life and an incredible future. And that those can be taken away in just a few seconds. For a father who has lost a child, I consider myself very fortunate. I “get” to speak with teens more than 100 times every year. In doing so, I remember Casey and know that I am keeping these kids safe. For the past few years, we have been supported by grants from Honda. Honda has supported our teen program and our elementary school programs. With Honda’s incredible support we have been able to speak with many more teens and can do so with no cost to the schools.
