Cady Reynolds, 16 – NE

cadyReynolds_profile 2On May 30, 2007, 16-year-old Cady Reynolds was driving her best friend home from a movie near Omaha, NE when another 16-year-old  driver was distracted and ran a red light, slamming into Cady’s car at 50MPH. Cady was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries and died the next day.

Cady was a 16-year old with a future as bright as her smile. She was a sophomore at Marian High School in Omaha, NE and the oldest of 5 children. Cady was a hard worker who believed in the importance of giving back to her community. Cady was a leader at school and in the community, active in student council, ministry and service clubs.

“She stood out,”  says Head of Marion High School, Elizabeth Kish.  “She was a go-getter. Her personality was absolutely spectacular; exuberant; likeable; very compassionate to others.”

 

The organization, C.A.R. Alliance for Safer Teen Driving, began as a result of Cady’s tragedy.  C.A.R. has produced a video  about Cady which may be viewed here.
